Troubled pop star Chris Brown is going to be escorted later today by federal marshals to Washington, D.C. to face a misdemeanor assault charge, KABC confirms.

Last October, Brown, 24, and his bodyguard were accused of assaulting a man in the wee hours of the morning outside of a local nightclub.

According to a police report, Brown hurled a homophobic slur at a man before saying, “I feel like boxing,” and punching him.
